As we dive into the month of November, it seems that winter is fast approaching. You may notice that everyone is starting to settle into a warm and cozy mentality; you know, lighting up the fireplace and cuddling under blankets. But that merry image can easily shatter when those fuzzy feelings turn into something fuzzy brushing up against your leg. Do you know which furry critter we are talking about? If you guessed a rat, you are right on the money!
Now that Halloween is over, it looks like these rats have nowhere to go but to take residency in your home! However, all jokes aside, rodents are nothing to smile at; they may appear cute from time to time, but as we said in our last article, they present multiple threats to your family and home (diseases, power shortages, and chewed wires are just to name a few). To give you a little perspective on these unwelcome guests, Castanet reported a video from this rat infested trailer park in West Kelowna where our very own Bug Master technician, George Forgie, was called in to remedy the problem (see video below). Fair warning, the video below might just make your skin crawl; especially knowing that this kind of infestation could easily take place in your home with the growing population of rodents in the Okanagan.
As you can see, this is an issue that no homeowner should have to deal with; a rat epidemic in your home can easily turn your sanctuary into an inhospitable environment. It is best to call a pest control company to deal with the situation at hand, right away.
